Rick Johnson

Rick Johnson has been all over the dial on Portland radio since 2005, doing everything from weekends and overnights in various formats to news anchoring and traffic reporting. An obsessive music fan from a very young age, Rick especially loves all things rock n' roll, and feels most at home DJing in a rock format.

When he's not on the radio, Rick spends his free time crawling through the bins at local record shops looking for classic and rare vinyl (all while trying to convince his wife that 2000+ records isn't NEARLY enough). When prompted, he will gladly explain to anybody who will listen why Black Sabbath is the most underrated band in the history of rock (please, don't prompt him).

Originally from Massachusetts, Rick currently resides in Portland with his wife Erica and a fat, lazy cat named Wombat.

Jenn Gondek

First, thanks for listening! I’ve dreamed of being a radio DJ since I was a kid. I remember setting up my cassette recorder and pretending that I had my own show, playing all my favorite songs. Even as a kid there was a lot of Alice Cooper in that mix. Fast forward to present day, and I am so thrilled to be sharing my passion for rock and heavy metal with you.

I grew up on classic rock, both of my parents are Alice Cooper fans, and it’s not an exaggeration to say that Alice Cooper’s music changed my life. Alice’s music gave me the strength to be myself, especially while being bullied in school for being “different.” Alice was also my gateway into all things dark and mysterious.

I am a passionate (and opinionated) metalhead. I enjoy everything from power metal to death metal, but my real love is black metal. Some of my favorite bands include Mayhem, Beherit, Carpathian Forest and Dissection.

I am also a belly dancer (yes you can belly dance to metal) and enjoying performing throughout New England. I am an avid gamer and spend my free time playing video games with my boyfriend Rick.
Feel free to drop me a line. I love talking about music and games!

Haze

NOTE: This was written by Haze himself so, if the grammar or punctuation isn't up to par, tell HIM.

"Mike Haze is a "native" of Western Mass. Been doing the radio gig for 21 years...also voice over and acting for the past 12. I am also a loud and proud 10 year veteran of the USAF, been all over the planet during my enlistment including but not limited to "Operation Iraqi Freedom and New dawn".
I am a self proclaimed "music dweeb". Music has literally been embedded into my psyche since birth. I had the the various band stints growing up (yep THAT kid) Fast forward to 1998. Grad of CSB and immediately was (for 11 years) the afternoon drive and the proud host and producer of TWO shows in WMass called The Big Bang Music Explosion and Operation: New Noise, with the former being the conduit for literally breaking bands like Shadows Fall - Staind - All That Remains and hundreds of others. At Pure Rock 993 out of Springfield/Northampton Mass. I "migrated" in 2012 to New Hampshire after my honorable discharge from the service and did some time doling up the Rock (afternoons) and production director services via 100.3 WHEB and ROCK 101 in Portsmouth and Manch for three years before coming here to Binnie Media in 2015...and I'm still here. I am the Production Director for our NH cluster and of course an "on air dude" as needed. I have literally produced and written 1,000's of commercials and live for the creative fun it brings.

LASTLY - I am an Aries who likes long walks...just kidding. I am Aries but I dig downhill Mt. biking, getting my Jeep Wrangler muddy listening to my vinyl, (BEFORE the resurgence btw) and I especially love spending time with my lovely (educator) wife Leslie, picking and collecting vintage goods all whilst helping her to raise her lovely wee lasses. (my step dahs)

Now I am here to "light up the Bone" nights...with the Rock, we must have in our lives.

Thanks for listening! - Haze
